Community Activist Rev. Lucious D. Lyshous has called for a national boycott of the Disney movie “The Princess and the Frog.” At a press conference in the parking lot of King’s Liquor and Donuts, Rev. Lyshous called the animated film “derogaturgical” and “racialiciously negatory,” apparently outraged that the movie’s villain is a black man. The recently released family film is an update of the story “The Frog Prince,” set in New Orleans.

“With the villainous personage of the Dr. Facilier characterization, we encounter yet another stereotypist imaginoid of an evil African American man with funky teeth. And as usual, the brother gets vanquishized by the purificity of a heroic amphiboid. Typical Hollywood falsilisms!” Rev. Lyshous told the small crowd made up of octegenarians, Tyler Perry fans, and a couple homeless guys that wandered by.

“I didn’t understand everything he said, but now that I think of it I can’t believe Disney was able to get this past the censors! Where is the outcry? Where’s Oprah?” asked Kwesi Jabootee. “Cartoons are no place for controversy!”

Others on the street were less ready to take up Rev. Lyshous’ latest cause. “Did he even see that damn movie!!? Has he seen all the posters that show the movie’s about a black damn princess!!?” shouted “Loud” Lydia Cantrell. “That man’s a fool and Jesus thinks so, too!!!”

This is the tenth boycott the Reverend has called for in the past four months. Some of his previous campaigns have been waged against Al Roker, the comic strip “Little Bad Homeez,” the local coffee shop The Coffee Joint, and Addy Walker (the black “American Girl” doll), among others. Reverend Lyshous has promised to continue the fight against “The Pricess and the Frog.” He plans a march later this month from the Hollywood and Highland subway station to Disney’s El Capitan theatre, half a block away.

  1. LOL! Shouldn’t the Rev. be advising Tiger Woods? Or protesting “Avatar”? Funny stuff.

  2. Rev. Lyshous can only handle one cause at a time — and you can bet it’s always the wrong cause!
