Community Activist Rev. Lucious D. Lyshous has called for a national boycott of the Disney movie “The Princess and the Frog.” At a press conference in the parking lot of King’s Liquor and Donuts, Rev. Lyshous called the animated film “derogaturgical” and “racialiciously negatory,” apparently outraged that the movie’s villain is a black man. The recently released family film is an update of the story “The Frog Prince,” set in New Orleans.
After the historic confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, we thought it would be a good time to spotlight our own “wise latina”, Magda Mendez! We are very excited to announce that episodes of Orlando’s Joint will be distributed on blip.tv, one of the premiere content providers on the interwebs! Staring June 17, episodes of season one of Orlando’s Joint will air on blip.tv every Wednesday.
Although he was only referred to as “Crowd #3″ in the scripts, background character Lester Cornblooth was a beloved fixture on the Orlando’s Joint set. He has memorable one-liners in episodes 5 (“You whack, yo.”) and 9 (“You’re on the front page, yo, this joint is famous!”), and was about to pitch ideas for expanding his role when he got the pink slip.
What happens when a serial killer, a yuppie scumbag and a black girl just-trying-to-make-it collide? Find out in the upcoming animated short Choke.
Choke is set to drop on the interwebs in early June late July — watch for more updates!
The Orlando’s Joint DVD is now available at the OJ e-store for only $12. Own it TODAY!
